By January 9th, National Quitters Day, most people had already given up on their New Year’s resolutions.
How did you do?
In 2023 I definitely was a statistic on National Quitters Day.
I had told my sister that I was going to walk 10K steps every single day of the year without fail.
Plot twist…
I did in fact fail. 😩
I didn’t hit the 10K steps on January 7th, 2023.

But unlike 90% of people…
I didn’t let the one slip-up completely derail my progress.
You see, sometimes our failures can be the door to our biggest comeback.
Think back to a time when you “failed” at doing something.
When you look back and reflect on it, how many failures actually turned out to be amazing successes?
The reality is that short term failure doesn’t automatically mean long term failure.
So true, failure is optional.
You see, on January 8th 2023, I got back to walking my 10K steps.
And even though I didn’t meet my goal of walking 10K steps for the whole of 2023 with no days off…
I did do 10K steps each day with at most 2 days off each week –
Not only in 2023.
But also in 2024.
And also in 2025.
And I plan to also do so in 2026.
And forever more.
January 7th 2023, could have been the day I failed and stopped walking for good.
But instead, it was the day I failed, but started a whole new journey of daily walks, me time, and general outdoor good vibes.
Walking daily has honestly been life changing in so many ways.
Today I’m on day 949 of walking 10K steps a day (with two day rest each week allowed), which is wild – considering this is the result of me “failing”.

So…
This is your gentle push to revisit the resolution you ditched on January 9th or after.
Today could be the day you choose to fail your 2026 resolution for real.
Or the day you keep pushing forward, even if it’s not perfect.
A year from now (or three), you will be glad you started today.
Send me a DM and let me know the resolution that you are going to bring back to life today!
